Why this site exists
The longer you train, the more numbers you have to deal with. How many reps suit this weight? How many calories should you eat while cutting? How much protein do you actually need? The answers are out there, but hopping between a different site for every calculation gets tiring fast.
On top of that, many of the calculators you find bury the content under advertising, or print a result without saying where the formula came from. A number on its own is not much use if you cannot tell what it means.
So I decided to build the tool I wanted to use at the gym myself. Type the numbers in, get an answer immediately, and be able to read the reasoning behind it. That was the starting point for FIT TOOLS, which now offers 20 training calculators, 15 everyday calculators, and 9 explanatory guides.
The FIT TOOLS calculators and guides are planned to stay free. Joy Next World as a whole plans to introduce paid plans for the Gym app that is currently in development, but there are no plans to put the calculators or the guides behind a paywall.
Timeline
- Joy Next World launched. Operations began on the home Raspberry Pi server, starting with training calculators such as 1RM, calorie burn and protein intake.
- Guides and everyday tools added. Nine explanatory articles on how to read the results went live, along with everyday calculators for bill splitting, unit conversion, loan repayment and more. English versions are available for every page.
- Continuous additions and improvements. Work is prioritised by whatever feels inconvenient in daily use, with ongoing effort on page speed and accessibility.
