How to use the bill splitter
Working out "how much each?" at a dinner or party with a calculator is surprisingly tedious. This tool takes the total and the number of people and gives the per-person amount, rounded to an easy-to-collect figure.
How to use it
Enter the total and number of people, then choose a rounding unit (such as 100). If the organizer or a senior member pays more, enter how many people pay extra and the extra amount; the remainder is split evenly among the others.
Rounding and the organizer's surplus
Rounding up when collecting makes the collected total slightly larger than the bill. This surplus stays with the organizer, so it can serve as a collecting fee or roll over to next time. Choose "1" rounding to make the surplus zero.
